Verdix is an API that screens an EVM address before you send it funds. POST an address and get back a safe / caution / danger verdict with reasons. It checks OFAC sanctions, scam/phishing/exploit lists, live address-poisoning lookalikes, burn addresses, and contract/deployer risk signals, on Base.

safe caution danger

safe means no risk signal was found by these checks — it is not a guarantee.

Verdix is paid per request over x402: USDC on Base mainnet, settled through Coinbase's CDP facilitator. No API key, no account — an x402-compatible client just pays the price in the response and gets the answer.

Call it

Each tier has its own URL, so a payment for that URL always buys that tier:

curl -s -X POST https://api.verdixapi.com/risk/address/quick \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"address":"0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913"}'

Without a payment attached, that returns 402 Payment Required with the x402 payment requirements (price, network, payTo). Pay it with any x402 client and the same call returns:

{
  "address": "0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913",
  "chain": "base",
  "tier": "quick",
  "price_usd": 0.02,
  "risk_score": 5,
  "verdict": "safe",
  "reasons": [],
  "checked": ["ofac", "scam_lists", "onchain_age"],
  "as_of": "2026-09-24T10:00:00+00:00"
}

A plain unpaid GET on any of these URLs returns that same 402 preview, for directories and agents that probe before paying — it never runs a check or takes payment.

Don't want to handle x402 payments yourself? Use the verdix-mcp MCP server (npx -y verdix-mcp) — it pays from your own wallet, capped at a price you set. Building with the Vercel AI SDK instead? verdix-ai-sdk is a tool you can drop straight into an AI SDK agent.
